IBADAN  –   THE All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Oyo State has expressed its support and prayers for the re-election of Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, in the forthcoming governorship election scheduled for Saturday, November 8.

The party made the declaration on Thursday during a special prayer session held in Ibadan, the Capital City of Oyo state to seek divine favour for Soludo and peaceful conduct of the poll.

Speaking at the event, the former APGA gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State, Comrade Adeshina Adewale (popularly known as Excel), described Governor Soludo as a visionary leader whose achievements in Anambra have strengthened APGA’s popularity across Nigeria.

Adeshina expressed optimism that Soludo would emerge victorious, noting that his performance in office had earned him the trust of the people.

“We are confident that Prof. Soludo will win convincingly because of his remarkable achievements in governance,” Adeshina said. “This prayer gathering is our own way of invoking peace, transparency, and credible results that will reflect the will of ndi Anambra.”

He urged residents of Anambra to shun violence and electoral malpractice, emphasizing the need for a peaceful and credible election.

“We appeal to all stakeholders to embrace peace and reject any form of electoral malfeasance,” he added.

The prayer session also included intercessions for other APGA leaders, including Board of Trustees member Deacon Samson Olalere, the party’s National Vice Chairman (Southwest), Chief Suraj Owolabi, and Alhaji Lasisi, among others.

Governor Soludo, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, is seeking a second term in office under the platform of APGA.
