PDP Crisis: Adeleke May No Longer Interested In Governorship Race Under PDP— Osun Chairman

OSOGBO – OSUN State Chairman of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Sunday Bisi has hinted that Governor Ademola Adeleke May no longer seeking re-election on the platform of the party.
Bisi attributed the possible withdrawal to the ongoing crisis within the PDP at the national level.
It would be recalled that rival factions have emerged on the platform of the party.
The State Chairman of the party who spoke on Monday at the party headquarters in Osogbo, explained that the PDP governorship primaries, originally scheduled for Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, can no longer hold.
Although Governor Adeleke remains the sole aspirant who purchased the nomination form and was duly screened on October 30th, 2025, the national-level disputes have disrupted the party’s processes.
“The suspension and counter-suspension of key national officers, central to conducting congresses, primaries, and transmitting candidates’ names to INEC, created uncertainty.
“The statutory ad-hoc ward and local government congresses, scheduled for November 24th and 29th, could not hold, as the disputes are now before courts nationwide.
“Given this situation, it appears unlikely that Governor Adeleke will seek the PDP nomination for the 2026 Osun Gubernatorial Election unless a resolution recognised by INEC is reached within the required timeline,” Bisi stated.
