Olatunji Lauds Makinde’s Economic Management Skill, Political Resilience Amid Party Crisis On Birthday

IBADAN – THE Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has hailed governor Seyi Makinde for his fiscal discipline, financial prudence, and economic management acumen amid challenging and economic hardship.
He also described the governor as a symbol of uncommon political resilience, stability, and visionary leadership, especially during turbulent moments within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In his congratulatory message made on Thursday, December 25 to commemorate the 58th birthday anniversary, Olatunji described Makinde’s style of governance as not only inclusive and people-centered, but also deeply rooted in strategic thinking and long-term planning for the prosperity of Oyo State.
According to the local government boss, Makinde’s calm demeanor and firm grasp of political dynamics have helped steer the PDP in Oyo through storms that could have unsettled a lesser leader.
He noted that while the party faced internal friction at the national level and external pressures, the governor remained focused on governance and delivered tangible progress across sectors.
“Today is more than just a birthday celebration. It is a moment of reflection on how Governor Makinde has continued to inspire a new generation of leaders, not by noise, but by results by the quiet strength of vision and unwavering commitment to the people.”
He praised the governor for redefining leadership in Oyo State with landmark achievements in infrastructure, education, health, and security under the Omituntun 1.0 and 2.0 agenda.
He added that Makinde’s capacity to rise above political distractions and stay focused on service delivery has earned him national recognition and respect.
“As a local government, we are not only proud of our governor, we draw strength from his resilience. His courage to speak truth, even when unpopular, and his refusal to be swayed by political expediencies remind us what true leadership looks like,” Olatunji added.
He prayed for continued wisdom, strength, and good health for the governor, assuring that Oluyole LG remains committed to advancing his legacy of good governance at the grassroots.
“Governor Makinde, who clocks another year today, has continued to play a prominent role in the political evolution of the South-West region and Nigeria at large, even as the PDP navigates its internal realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections,” Olatunji concluded.
