ABUJA   –   THE National Industrial Court, Abuja, has restrained the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) from embarking on any form of industrial action, including strike, work stoppages, go-slows or picketing.

Justice E.D. Subilim issued the interim order of injunction on Friday, stopping NARD, its members and agents from calling, directing, organising or participating in any industrial protest from January 12, 2026.

The order also bars the association from taking any steps preparatory to industrial action and will remain in force pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice scheduled for January 21, 2026.

The suit was instituted by the Attorney General of the Federation and the Federal Government of Nigeria against NARD, its President, Mohammed Suleiman, and Dr. Shuaibu Ibrahim.

NARD had earlier threatened to commence a nationwide strike on Monday, January 12, 2026, over unresolved demands.
