ABUJA — SENATOR Liyel Imoke and former governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Tambuwal have been nominated to head the 126-member National Convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) scheduled to hold on April 14, 2026.
While Imoke is the chairman of the Convention, Tambuwal is the Deputy Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee.
This is even as the former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former presidential candidate Peter Obi, former Kano Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, and former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi and Mallam Nasir El-rufai have also been nominated as members to conduct the party’s National Convention.
The convention, scheduled to hold on Tuesday, April 14, has the former Attorney General, Abubakar Malami as member.
The ADC, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said it has the updated lists of its Convention Committee and Subcommittees ahead of its forthcoming national convention.
ADC said the update is aimed at strengthening coordination and ensuring a smooth and credible convention.
It urges all committee members to discharge their responsibilities with diligence and called on stakeholders to support the process.
