Makinde’s DG Protocol Badejo, Wife Bag Chieftaincy Titles In Akinyele Community

IBADAN    –    THE Director-General of Protocol to Oyo State Governor, Otunba Adegboyega Badejo, has been conferred with the chieftaincy title of Fiwajoye of Lakoto-Osajin Community in Akinyele Local Government Area of Ibadan, in recognition of his commitment to grassroots development and community service.

His wife, Yeye Otunba Olubunmi Badejo, was equally honoured with the title of Yeye Fiwajoye of Lakoto-Osajin as part of the colourful ceremony attended by dignitaries from different walks of life.

The conferment, endorsed by the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, was carried out in collaboration with the leadership and members of the Akinyele Traditional Council.

Speaking shortly after the installation, Otunba Badejo described the honour bestowed on him and his wife as a call to greater service and renewed commitment towards improving the welfare of the people in line with the developmental vision of Governor Seyi Makinde for Oyo State.

He noted that the Baale of Lakoto Osajin, Alhaji Kamoru Aderibigbe, had remained a longtime ally and a pragmatic leader whose contributions to community development have been remarkable.

Otunba Badejo also expressed appreciation to Governor Makinde for the support and honour accorded to them, while praying for sustained progress and prosperity for Oyo State.

He said “We thank Governor Seyi Makinde immensely for bringing us up to this level of honour and we pray that Oyo state would never go down”.

He pledged that the title would further deepen his commitment to serving the people and addressing their challenges for the collective benefit of the community and the state at large.

Earlier, while performing the official installation, the Baale of Lakoto Osajin, Alhaji Kamoru Aderibigbe, said the honour was in recognition of Otunba Badejo and other beneficiaries’ unwavering contributions to the growth and development of the community.

Also speaking on behalf of traditional rulers at the event, the Alakinyele of Akinyele and Head of Traditional Rulers in the local government, Oba James Odeniran, represented by the Asipa Balogun of Ibadanland, Oba Dauda Azeez, urged the newly elevated chiefs and honorary title holders to work collectively towards promoting peace, unity and prosperity in Lakoto Osajin Community.

The event also marked the formal admission of the Baale of Lakoto Osajin Community into the Akinyele Local Government Traditional Council following his installation by the Olubadan of Ibadanland on December 9, 2024.

At a reception held in honour of the new title holders, friends, family members and associates extolled the virtues of Otunba Badejo, describing him as humble, accommodating and committed to humanity, while praying for long life and sound health for him and his wife.

Among dignitaries present at the event were the Oyo State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola, and the Oyo State Vice Chairman of the PDP-APM, Alhaji Wasiu Adeleke.

Otunba Adegboyega Badejo and his wife had previously been installed as the Otunba and Yeye Otunba of Kajola Ijesa, as well as the Bajimo and Yeye Bajimo of Isotun Ijesa, before their latest conferment as Fiwajoye and Yeye Fiwajoye of Lakoto Osajin Community.
