Just In: Senate Confirms Lauretta Onochie As NDDC Chairman

Lauretta Onochie has been confirmed as the new chairman of NDDC.
Naijanewshub.com.ng reports that the upper chamber of the National Assembly on Tuesday confirmed the nomination of the Special Assistant to the President on New Media, Lauretta Onochie as Chairman of the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The nomination of Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, was also confirmed as Managing Director of NDDC for a term of two years to complete the term of his predecessor in office.
Also confirmed for appointment are General Charles Ehigie Airhiavbere (Rtd) as Executive Director of Finance and Mr Charles Ogunmola as Executive Director Projects (South-West), in the NDDC board.
The Senate also confirmed Dimgba Eruba as member from Abia State as member representing South-East), Dr Emem Wilcox Wills (Akwa Ibom, State Representative, South-South), Elder Dimaro Denyanbofa (Bayelsa State), Hon Orok Duke (Cross River) and Hon. Gbenga Odegba (Ondo, South-West).
Others are Mr. Onyekachi Dimgba (Rivers, South-South), Alhaji Mohammed Kabir Abubakar (Zonal Representative, Nasarawa), Professor Tahir Mamma, SAN (North-East Representative, Adamawa) and Alhaji Sule-Iko Sadeeq Sani Sani (North-West, Zonal Representative).
The nomination of Dr Pius Odudu (Edo, South-South) and Engr. Anthony Okanne (Imo, South-East) as members of the board were, however, stepped down over their failure to appear before the screening panel.
