Adelabu, Onimalu, Prominent Islamic Scholars Present As Renowned Philanthropist, Hassan Olawale Giwa Turbanes Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan Land

Arc. Hassan Olawale Giwa has been turbaned as Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan Land.

Naijanewshub.com.ng reports that the Chief Imam of Ibadan Land, Sheikh Abdulganniy Agbotomokekere has turbaned a popular Abuja based businessman and Founder of Hassan Olawale Giwa (HOG) Foundation, Arc (Dr.) Hassan Olawale Giwa as the new Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan Land.

Also turbaned was his wife, Alhaja Khadija Giwa as Iya Alaranse Adini Musulumi of Ibadan Land.

Speaking before the official Installation and presentation of instruments of office to the new Asiwaju Adini Musulumi, the Chief Imam, who spoke through Alhaji Abdulbari hailed, Asiwaju Hassan Giwa for his philanthropic gestures towards humanity and progress of Islam.

Shiekh Agbotomokekere, who said Giwa has over time contributed to the building project of the Oja’ba central mosque, disclosed that he (Giwa) was tested and found worthy to be the Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan.

In his sermon, the renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Muhydeen Ajani Bello, who was the guest speaker, stressed the need for well meaning Nigerians to exhibit good character and lay good examples for the society to enjoy rapid development.

Sheikh Bello called on individuals, particularly Muslims to emulate the philanthropic gesture of the new Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan Land, Arc Hassan Giwa, saying that Nigeria needs more of his kind to become a better society.

The cleric said that Asiwaju Giwa became a candidate for the highly respected Islamic title because of his good and unflinching support for Islam.

The newly turbaned Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan Land, Arc Giwa, in his address, maintained that our society is the way it is today because respect for simple law of nature, religious and others are being flagrantly disobeyed.

Addressing the distinguished guests at the reception held at Ibadan Civic Centre, Idi Ape, the capital of Oyo State, the new Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan Land said, “our society is the way it is today because respect for simple law of nature, religious law and others are being flagrantly disobeyed, I will work with all stakeholders to systematically ignite the fire of reorientation of our people.

“We should all learn to do the right thing at all times for our country to be better. After all, we do not have any other country we can call our own. We should all embrace the culture of being Omoluabis.” Giwa said.

He, however, appealed to parents in such category to allow their children to choose a professional career of their choice instead.

“Some parents when it is time for their kids to make a vital and crucial decision that will affect their lives, most especially while choosing a professional career do force them to do their wishes or otherwise which in most cases is contrary to the choice of their kids.

“I want to appeal that we should stop the culture of forcing professions and vocations on our children. Let them follow their passion. I am an Architect today because I love and enjoy being one.

“If we promote professionalism in this way, we will be breeding generations of fulfilled Nigerians. By doing this, we will be promoting creativity and progress in our social and economic lives,” he said.

Giwa therefore, expressed his gratitude to everybody who contributed to the successful of the event and urged Nigerians to vote according to their conscience at the incoming general elections.

“My sincere appreciation to all those that Almighty Allah used to make today a reality, they are numerous to mention but I will use my father, the Chief Imam of Ibadan Land and Grand Imam of the entire Yoruba Land, Sheikh Abdulganniy Agbotomokekere as a point of contact to greet you all. Our highly respected fathers and mothers, I want to crave your indulgence to make the following submissions. You have installed me as the Asiwaju Adinni Musulumi of Ibadan Land today, I believe it is strictly the way and will of Almighty Allah.

“To be sincere, the position of Asiwaju Adini Musulumi of Ibadan Land is a position that involves huge responsibility and comes with challenges. It requires vast knowledge, wisdom and patience. However, it is a big shoe being occupied by a much smaller leg of mine, but I believe with support of our fathers and all adherents of Islamic faith we shall succeed.”

“While I believe that this is an opportunity and avenue to serve on a bigger platform to improve on our dawah, and double up our efforts in the way of propagating the course of Islam, I would therefore, need the guidance, tutelage and advice of all particularly the Ibadan Muslim Community in discharging the huge responsibilities attached to the Office of the Asiwaju Adini of Ibadan Land, he said.

Earlier in his welcome address, Chairman of Planning Committee, Hon. Sikiru Adebayo (Kajue), said that Asiwaju Giwa was able to achieve this height because of his faith in Allah, hard-working, commitment, dedication, doggedness, service to humanity, generosity, unblemished antecedent and Omoluabi ethos.

According to him, “without your unrelenting support, we couldn’t have done it alone.You will agree with me that Arc. Hassan Olawale Giwa, was able to achieve this height because of his faith in Allah, hard-working, commitment, dedication, doggedness, service to humanity, generosity, unblemished antecedent and Omoluabi ethos.

The event was graced by the former Deputy Governor of Central Bank, who also doubles as Accord gubernatorial candidate in the state, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, the Asiwaju Adini of Oyo State, Alhaji Mutiu Oladejo Onimalu, the Wakeel-I-Muslimeen of Oyo State, Prof. Kamil Koyejo Oloso, the Onilagun of Lagun, Oba Najeemdeen Olalekan Bello, Hon. Abimbola Adekanbi among other prominent Islamic scholars, business and political associates.
