IBADAN  –   THE Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, on Friday, October 31, 2025, disbursed N100 million as business support grants to traders, artisans, and farmers across Oyo State.

The initiative, tagged “2025 Mega Empowerment and Economic Relief Programme Series,” is part of the minister’s efforts to alleviate the economic hardship faced by residents of the state.

Adelabu, who is also a 2027 governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, said the gesture was aimed at giving back to society and supporting small-scale business owners struggling with the current economic realities.

He explained that the empowerment programme was not politically motivated but an act of gratitude and community support.

“This empowerment is not about politics. I am using it to thank God for His mercy on me, so I’m giving back to society,” he said.

Adelabu acknowledged the current economic challenges across the country, stressing the need for targeted relief measures for traders, artisans, and farmers to cushion the effects of inflation and other hardships.

He also called on Nigerians to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, assuring them that the nation would soon begin to enjoy the benefits of the ongoing reforms.

“President Tinubu is God-sent to Nigeria. He means well for us. Let us all support him and the APC. Though things are tough now, I can assure you that Nigerians will soon reap the gains of their pains,” he added.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the minister, noting that the financial support would greatly help in boosting their businesses and improving their livelihoods. They also pledged their support for Adelabu’s 2027 governorship ambition.

Dignitaries present at the event included former Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Chief Moses Adeyemo; the Babaloja-General of Oyo State, Alhaji Yekini Abass.
