Ayodele Sonubi has on Thursday resumed duty as the new Commissioner of Police for Oyo state.

The new CP, Ayodele Sonubi in his address while briefing journalists at the Oyo state police command Headquarters, Eleyele Ibadan seek collaboration of stakeholders across the state to curb crimes and criminality in the state.

He assured residents of the state of the police command’s commitment towards ensuring security of lives and property.

Sonubi promised to build on the achievements of his predecessor, noting that his administration would prioritize community policing and engagement.

Sonubi, a seasoned police officer with years of experience solicited for the support and cooperation of the public in achieving his goals.

He emphasized importance of timely information sharing and collaboration between the police and the community, stressing that security is a collective responsibility.

The new commissioner also announced plans to strengthen the command’s intelligence gathering capabilities and improve response time to distress calls.

He assured that his team would work tirelessly to address the concerns of residents, including the rising cases of armed robbery, kidnapping, and cultism in some parts of the state.

He however said he is optimistic that his leadership would bring a new era of peace and security to Oyo State.
