Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has named the Southern Parkway Road after President Bola Tinubu.
The road S8/S9, cutting across Christian Centre to Ring Road 1, in the Federal Capital Territory was commissioned on Tuesday, as part of activities marking Tinubu’s first year in office as President.
The President said the completion of the road underscores his administration’s commitment to inclusive and sustainable infrastructural development.
He described sustainable infrastructure as an enabler of economic development and prosperity.
“We recognise the fact that infrastructure is an enabler of economic development and prosperity. We believe we are going to achieve all of that,” the President said.
Tinubu seized the opportunity to laud the FCT Minister, Wike, describing him as Mr Project.
The 5.4 kilometres roadway is expected to ease traffic congestion and evacuate traffic from the city centre, reduce delays and increase man hours.
The contract was awarded to SETRACO construction.
