Fuel Scarcity: Oyo NSCDC Commandant, Adaralewa Micheal Warns Against Hoarding

Oyo state NSCDC Commandant, Adaralewa Micheal has warned against hoarding of petrol.

Naijanewshub.com.ng reports that Oyo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Commandant Adaralewa Micheal concerned  by the scarcity of the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise known as Petrol across the country, has on Thursday urged dealers and marketers of petroleum products to avoid hoarding the essential commodity.

Commandant Adaralewa also warned against selling petrol into kegs.

Adaralewa made this appeal on Thursday at a meeting with some members of the petrol dealers in the state.

The commandant at the meeting that was held at the state NSCDC Command, Agodi Ibadan charged petrol dealers, marketers and tanker drivers to desist from diversion of petroleum products.

Adaralewa in his address said, “hoarding of petroleum products brings unnecessary hardship to citizens and it is on this note I urge you all to desist from such act.”

The State Commandant also made it known that officers and men of the Anti Vandalization unit of the Corps will start a routine check on all the filling stations in the State and anyone found hoarding the product will be dealt with as enemy of the State.

He said, “Government is doing everything possible to make life easy for it’s citizens and we all need to support the government by doing the right thing at all time”.

Adaralewa however called on the people of the State to be part of the nation building by volunteering informations to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to checkmate those who are in the habit of hoarding fuel in the State.
