Hon. Temitope Olawoyin Pledges Action-Oriented Representation For Egbeda Constituency At OYHA

IBADAN — A leading aspirant for the Egbeda State Constituency seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Temitope Olawoyin, has pledged to deliver impactful and action-driven representation if elected.
Olawoyin, a public administration expert, made this known while engaging journalists in Ibadan, emphasizing that her legislative agenda would go beyond rhetoric to tangible development.
According to her, the decision to contest was in response to growing calls from constituents, noting that she stands as the only widely trusted female aspirant since the creation of Egbeda Local Government in 1989.
She outlined her proposed policies to include development-focused legislation and comprehensive empowerment programmes targeting youths, women, and the elderly.
The APC chieftain from Ward 7 stated that she has a deep understanding of the constituency’s needs, stressing that effective representation is key to driving meaningful transformation.
Olawoyin, an alumna of the University of Ibadan and Covenant University, expressed concern over the rising number of destitute individuals across parts of the constituency, particularly in areas such as Alakia and the Gbagi-Olaogun axis.
“It is disturbing that the number of beggars continues to increase in our constituency. Areas like Alakia and Gbagi-Olaogun have become hubs for destitutes. This reflects poor legislative representation,” she said.
She maintained that her leadership would prioritize social welfare and inclusive development, adding that her experience in grassroots engagement positions her to better understand and address the challenges faced by residents.
Highlighting her philanthropic efforts, Olawoyin disclosed that she has supported the education of out-of-school children and facilitated empowerment initiatives for vulnerable groups through her foundation.
“Through my foundation, we have consistently empowered youths, women, and the elderly. If elected, I plan to rehabilitate and support at least 200 destitute individuals monthly,” she added.
The aspirant also urged party leaders and members to support her candidacy, while cautioning constituents against political propaganda ahead of the elections.
“Democracy has evolved beyond politics of bitterness and misinformation. Voters must critically assess the track records and credibility of aspirants rather than rely on empty promises,” she said.
She emphasized the need for leadership rooted in empathy, experience, and service, noting that Egbeda deserves representatives committed to genuine development.
Olawoyin also called on Nigerians to support the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and vote for APC candidates across Oyo State and the country, expressing optimism about improved socio-economic outcomes under the party’s leadership.
