The Government of Oyo state has released an official online platform to receive financial donations and support towards helping victims of the Ibadan explosion.

The Senior Special Assistant on Broadcast Media (SSA) to Oyo state Governor, Mrs. Abosede Sodiq, confirmed the development this morning.
Recall that Governor Seyi Makinde, shortly after an on the spot assessment of the blast scene at Dejo Oyelese street, Adeyi avenue, Bodija, Ibadan, directed hospitals to accept and immediately commence treatment on all injured victims of the blast while equally providing alternative shelter for already displaced persons at various hotels.
It was gathered that a combined team of search and rescue personnel comprising state and federal agencies have been deployed to the explosion site while structural integrity test was being carried out on all buildings in the area.
A quick check on the Oyo state government official donation platform by this online newspaper indicates that donors can easily provide financial support to victims of blast by just a click on the “donation.”
The state government’s mission as indicated on the platform read: “As Yorubas and indeed Nigerians, we believe in the power of community and the strength of unity. This donation portal is provided by the Oyo State Government as a service to victims directly affected by the Ibadan explosion disaster.
“All donations go directly to the Bank account of Dejo Oyelese Landlord/Resident Association while Oyo State Government will work with the leadership of the Resident association to ensure accountability and active participation of all affected in the disbursement of the donations.
“This is the time to rebuild the communities affected by Ibadan Explosion…….JOIN US. “
