IBADAN – Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has on Monday on behalf of the Southern Governors and the good people of Ogun State commiserated with Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and the affected families of Ibadan children’s funfair stampede.
Prince Abiodun expressed the condolence message of the Southern Governor’s Forum during his visit to the Governor’s Office at Secretariat, Ibadan.
Addressing the journalists after a private meeting with Governor Seyi Makinde, the Ogun State governor described the stampede as an unfortunate and regrettable incident.

While urging the non-governmental organizations with similar initiative of distributing food items to the people, Governor Abiodun told them to inform and carry the state government along to prevent the reoccurrence of the incident.
He noted that government has people who are charged with the responsibility of implementing the programme of such nature.
Governor Abiodun prayed to God for the repose of the souls of the innocent children, and their families to have fortitude to bear the loss.
He also sympathized and prayed for the government and the people of Oyo State and wished them merry Xmas and happy New Year in advance.
Thanking the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun for the visit, Governor Seyi Makinde revealed that his private meeting with him centred on how both states will leverage on areas of comparative advantage in the coming year 2025.
