Minister Umahi Dismisses Claims Of Chasing Woman For 12 Years

ABUJA — THE Minister of Works, David Nweze Umahi, has dismissed claims that he has been pursuing a woman romantically for 12 years, describing them as unfounded and a distraction from his official duties.
Umahi made the remarks on Saturday in Enugu while inspecting ongoing projects under his ministry.
He emphasized that he owes nobody an explanation for personal matters and that he confronts all accusations with confidence.
“If it is Senator Natasha or anyone else making claims, my response is simple: my face would not hide. I am bold enough to face any accusation with dignity,” he said, urging Nigerians to focus on governance rather than social media speculation.
The minister also noted that social media has amplified unverified reports and warned against letting such distractions overshadow the real work of government.
“It is just for social media, but I think we can turn our attention to the work that truly matters; roads, bridges, and infrastructure that benefit our people,” he added.
Umahi reassured the public of his commitment to his ministerial responsibilities.
“I remain focused on my duty to the nation and will not be swayed by baseless allegations,” he said.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to prioritize issues that affect their daily lives over personal claims and online rumors.
“We should not allow distractions to take our eyes off governance and development,” Umahi emphasized.
