The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Valentine Okoro on Friday asserted that the Nigerian Army (NA) remains committed to the wellbeing and general welfare of it’s personnel.

The GOC made this known on his maiden visit to the Nigerian Army School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (NASEME) Auchi as part of his responsibility to have on the ground assessment of his Area of Responsibility upon assumption of office.

Major General Okoro commended the staff and students of the institution for the trainings and technical contributions to Nigerian Army and the Nation at large.

He reinstated the that the Army remains committed to the wellbeing and general welfare of the staff citing the renovation of accommodations, new constructions amongst other measures to ensure a good standard of living for the personnel.

Additionally, the GOC admonished officers and soldiers of the institution to maintain high level of discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties as the NA will not hesitate to sanction severely any personnel found wanting in line of duty.

Major General Okoro tasked students of the institution to ensure they maximize the learning opportunity to acquire valuable skills and apply themselves in their areas of responsibility. Finally, he enjoined the soldiers to always take out time to care for their families and keep safe at all times.

Earlier, the Acting Commandant NASEME, Brigadier General Oladele Arogundade briefed the GOC on activities of the institution and stability of security based on the strong cordial relationship with the sister security agencies Auchi.

Present at the visit were the Commander 4 Brigade Nigerian Army, Brigadier General Danlami Ndahi and other senior officers from 2 Division Nigerian Army. The visit was hitch-free.
