No PDP Governor Struck Any Deal with Wike On Party Affairs – CP-PDP

ABUJA – The Conference of Professionals in the PDP (CP-PDP) said it can authoritative confirm that governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) did not strike any deal with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike on the issues relating to the party’s leadership and activities.
The CP-PDP said it has carefully and professionally investigated the report in a section of the media, which claimed that PDP governors struck a compromising deal with Chief Wike on party matters and found same to be incorrect and misleading.
The CP-PDP, in a statement by its Protem National Coordinator, Barr. Obinna Nwachukwu, said it can confirm that the said report emanated from desperate anti-PDP elements who are disconcerted that Chief Wike’s hold on the PDP is being weakened ahead of the deciding May 27, 2025 National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting and as such target to mislead the media and cause confusion in the party by creating the impression that PDP Governors had struck a compromising deal with the minister.
“The said anti-PDP elements are apprehensive that the FCT minister will be expelled from the party at the NEC meeting for his anti-party activities including openly aligning with the All Progressives Congress (APC), publicly declaring to work for the victory of the APC in the 2026 FCT Council Election and the 2027 Presidential election and continuously demarketing the PDP with his public statements.
“Their apprehension is worsened by anxieties that the FCT minister is not guaranteed any real accommodation in the APC if he is expelled from the PDP,” the PDP group said.
The CP-PDP has, however, noted that there is no going back on Chief Wike’s expulsion from the PDP as governors elected on the platform of the PDP, other leaders, party stakeholders, majority of PDP members and even most Nigerians are united in their disapproval of the anti-PDP activities of the FCT minister.
As professionals and patriotic citizens committed to the sustenance of democracy in Nigeria, the CP-PDP insisted that the expulsion of Chief Wike and imposition of appropriate sanctions on party members, who have aligned with the APC must top the agenda for the NEC meeting.
The CP-PDP said it stands “with our PDP state governors in the determination to stabilize the party and urge the public to completely disregard the said report as there is no such deal between the governors and the FCT minister.
“Chief Wike should leave the PDP alone. He should go and become a member of the failed APC and contend with the looming political oblivion that awaits the APC; a vicious and anti-people party whose hold on our nation will definitely terminate on May 29, 2027.”
