Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has been declared as the winner of the controversial governorship primary of All Progressives Congress(APC) held in Ondo State on Sunday.

 

Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State who was the chairman of the 2024 APC Governorship Primary Election Committee declared that Governor Aiyedatiwa won the election having polled 48,569 votes.

 

The results were from 17 out of the 18 local government areas of the state.

 

In Ifedore Local Government Area, the returning officer, Chief Oliver Okpala disclosed that he and his team had closed shave with death as the residents were advancing towards them to attack them.

 

He revealed that they were saved by a team of security operatives which ferried them out of the town.

 

Therefore, Chief Okpala said there was no election in Ifedore Local Government Area of the state.

 

 

Article 18 and 19 of 2022 party’s constitution,

 

Despite Chief Oliver Okpala’s disclosure, Governor Usman Ododo said the election held in 18 local government areas of the state.

 

He gave the breakdown as follows: Total number of voters 171,922. Total number of Accredited voters 95,178 Valid votes cast 95,178.
