Oyo PDP Sets Up Disciplinary, Reconciliation Panels To Strengthen Party Unity

IBADAN –  THE Oyo State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the constitution of its State Disciplinary and Reconciliation Committees as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen internal democracy, promote discipline, and enhance unity within the party.

Announcing the development in a statement on Thursday, the State Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, said the move reflects the party’s commitment to maintaining decorum, resolving internal disputes amicably, and sustaining the cohesion for which the Oyo PDP is known.
According to the statement, Hon. Oludayo Opatokun will serve as Chairman of the State Disciplinary Committee, with Pastor Biodun Popoola as Secretary. Other members include Barr. Gbadegesin Waheed, Barr. Eedris Durosaro, Michael Ogunsina, Mrs. Dupe Temileyi, and Hon. Kunmi Adesina.
The State Reconciliation Committee will be chaired by Hon. Mufu Ogunremi, while Hon. Yemi Oyelami serves as Secretary. Other members are Hon. Oludayo Opatokun, Hon. Kamorudeen Adeyemi, Hon. Yusuf Adekunle, Hon. Akinsola Ayuba, Hon. Wulemot Ibitoye, Hon. Toyin Olaniran, and Hon. Lekan Bello.
Ogungbenro noted that the committees would be inaugurated soon, with the date to be announced later.
He added that the establishment of the committees underscores the PDP’s determination to ensure fairness, accountability, and continued harmony among members as the party prepares for future political engagements in the state.
