IBADAN — THE drive to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and political awareness ahead of the 2027 general elections gained traction in Oyo State on Sunday, as supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu inaugurated a state-of-the-art office in Ibadan.
The facility, located in the Oke-Bola area of the city, was unveiled by the PBAT AGAIN 2027 support group as part of efforts to consolidate political structures and expand engagement at the grassroots.
Convener of the group, Ambassador Victor Kunle Adeleke, said the initiative represents a strategic platform to deepen political participation and sustain ongoing governance efforts.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Adeleke described the project as more than a physical structure, noting that it embodies a shared commitment to continuity, stability, and national development.
“This is not just about unveiling a building; it is about reinforcing a political idea anchored on organisation, coordination, and grassroots engagement,” he said.
Adeleke, who also serves as the President’s State Chief of Protocol (SCOP), emphasised the importance of unity, discipline, and strategic planning in achieving electoral success.
In his remarks, the Oyo State Coordinator of the group, Alhaji Olatunde Sunmonu, described the event as a landmark moment for supporters in the state, noting that the office would serve as a hub for mobilisation, policy dialogue, and stakeholder engagement.
“This office symbolises our unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope agenda. It will function as a centre for consultation, mobilisation, and promoting the achievements of the current administration across Oyo State,” Sunmonu said.
Also speaking, the Oyo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alake Adeyemo, urged party members to intensify mobilisation efforts in preparation for the 2027 elections.
Senator Fatai Buhari commended the initiative, describing it as forward-thinking and impactful. He noted that the project sends a strong message to political stakeholders on the importance of supporting governance and contributing to national development.
Similarly, APC chieftain and governorship aspirant, Barrister Akeem Agbaje, stressed the need for unity within the party, warning against internal divisions and imposition of candidates.
Drawing lessons from previous elections, Agbaje called for inclusiveness, cohesion, and the emergence of credible candidates, noting that collective effort remains key to electoral success.
Other dignitaries at the event, including Senator Sarafadeen Alli, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi, Senator Hosea Agboola, and several party leaders, praised the convener for the initiative, describing it as timely and strategic.
They also expressed support for the Tinubu administration, citing its efforts in economic reforms, education, infrastructure development, and social initiatives, while reaffirming their commitment to sustaining the administration’s policies beyond 2027.
