The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum on Friday celebrate one of their own, as Supreme Court affirmed the victory of Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, as the duly elected governor of Delta state.
The Forum, in a statement by its Director General, CID Maduabum, congratulated the Delta state governor on his victory at the Supreme Court.
The Forum expressed joy with the verdict of the Supreme Court in the case instituted by both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Labour Party governorship candidates against Oborevwori, who was the choice of the people at the polls.
“The Supreme Court’s verdict upheld the concurrent positive judgments of both the Tribunal and the Court of Appeal. This is a judicial affirmation of the will and votes of the people of Delta State who spoke emphatically with their votes on March 25, 2024.
“This victory further empowers Governor Oborevwori to continue to deliver on the projects and programmes that are dear and impactful to the people of Delta State.
“The Forum celebrates the people of Delta State for their dedication and steadfast support to the Governor and the Peoples Democratic Party on the onerous task of consolidating on the giant strides of the government,” the Forum said.
The Forum prayed for divine favour, wisdom and strength for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as he steers the ship of State to calmer waters.
