Makinde Scores Brace As Oyo @50 Football Match Ends In Thrilling 3–2 Victory

IBADAN   –   OYO State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, displayed remarkable football prowess on Saturday, scoring twice and providing an assist to lead his team to a 3–2 victory over a side captained by former Super Eagles star, Mutiu Adepoju.

The novelty match, part of activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of Oyo State, was played at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan, and attracted a large crowd of sports enthusiasts, dignitaries, and political figures.

Governor Makinde was the standout performer, netting a brace and assisting the winning goal in a closely contested game that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

 

 

Adepoju’s team responded with two goals, demonstrating skill and determination, but ultimately fell short.

The match featured an exciting mix of former international footballers, sports administrators, entertainers, and government officials, adding colour and vibrancy to the celebration.
