Governor Charles Soludo has appealed to President Buhari over Nnamdi Kanu.
Naijanewshub.com.ng gathered that Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra state has implored President Mohammadu Buhari to please temper justice with mercy and release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra in detention Nnamdi Kanu.
Soludo who made the plea at the official commencement of national campaigns of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) held in Awka, said the unconditional release of the IPOB leader will go a long way in helping solving insecurity in the Southeast geopolitical zone of the country.
Soludo equally offered to serve as surety and guarantor for the release of Nnamdi Kanu from detention, stressing that the IPOB leader can not continue to languish unjustly in custody.
He said, ” We thank President Mohammadu Buhari for the 2nd Niger Bridge. We also thank him for the Enugu-Onitsha expressway. We thank him too for his efforts in assisting security agencies to help us fight insecurity in the Southeast.
But as the security people say, we need both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to solve the problems of Insecurity, we thank him for all the kinetics. We have also inaugurated the Truth and Peace Committee in Anambra state to go to the immediate and remote causes of insecurity in the Southeast.
We are also engaging the youths and various forms of non-kinetic engagements. But it is now time for the Federal Government to help us with the last leg of this non-kinetic approach. We now need all the major stakeholders in the security project in the Southeast to come around the table for us to discuss the security and prosperity of the Southeast.
And I now want to plead and appeal and request and demand that the Federal Government ably led by President Mohammadu Buhari that a critical person required around that table of conversation is Nnamdi Kanu.
We are calling on the Federal Government to please release Nnamdi Kanu. We want to have a comprehensive conversation about the future of the Southeast. If we can not release him unconditionally as requested by court judgements, I now offer to be the surety. Release Nnamdi Kanu to me.
I will keep him. I will provide him shelter. Anytime you need him, I will bring him to you. Give Nnamdi Kanu to me, we will keep him in Awka. We must bring Insecurity in Southeast to an end. That is why APGA believes in the security and prosperity of Nigeria.
All we are saying is give us Nnamdi Kanu. ”
