Tinubu Approves Posting Of 65 Ambassadors To Foreign Missions

IBADAN — PRESIDENT Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 ambassadors-designate to Nigeria’s diplomatic missions across the world, comprising 31 non-career ambassadors and 34 career ambassadors.
The ambassadors were earlier confirmed by the Senate in December 2025.
Their postings were announced in a press statement issued on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Non-Career Ambassadors

The Presidency disclosed that some host countries have already granted diplomatic agrément for the ambassadors-designate.
According to the statement, the United Kingdom has approved the appointment of Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu as Nigeria’s High Commissioner, while France has granted agrément to Ambassador Ayo Oke.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also transmitted the nominations of the remaining envoys to their respective host countries and requested agrément in line with diplomatic procedures.
President Tinubu has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to immediately commence the induction programme for the ambassadors and high commissioners-designate ahead of their deployment to various missions.
