Transmission Line Vandals Arrested Along Mando–Jos Corridor

ABUJA – THE Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the successful prevention of a vandalism attempt targeting towers T297, T298, and T299 on the Mando–Jos 330kV double-circuit transmission line.
On Sunday, October 5, 2025, security forces, working alongside local community vigilantes, apprehended the suspects and potential buyers involved.
Ndidi Mbah, General Manager, Public Affairs, in a statement on Wednesday, said the vandals had removed key tower components, threatening the structural stability of the towers.
However, the transmission line remained intact without collapsing.
In response, TCN engineers immediately began emergency reinforcement work to restore the towers’ full stability and maintain uninterrupted power supply along the Mando–Jos corridor.
TCN applauds the prompt intervention by security personnel and the host community members, which led to the detention of those responsible.
The suspects are now in police custody in Saminaka, Kaduna State, where investigations continue.
The company calls on all communities nationwide to stay alert and report suspicious activities near transmission infrastructure to security agencies or the nearest TCN office.
TCN remains dedicated to collaborating with security authorities to protect Nigeria’s electric transmission network and ensure reliable power delivery across the country.
