Two Suspected Cable Vandals Arrested In Kogi

LOKOJA. – THE personnel of kogi state command of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC have arrested two suspects for stealing and destruction of critical National Assets.
The officers stationed at the Zariagi-Kabba junction on Monday 20 January, 2026 apprehended the duo of Habibu Muhammad, 21, and Bello Ismaila, 20, while excavating and removing underground communication cables along the Zariagi- Obajana road.
The command Public Relations officer , SC.Abdullahi Aliyu, disclosed this to Journalists on Thursday in Lokoja.
SC. Aliyu who noted that the suspects confessed to the crime and provided a clue to their structured criminal networks.and admitted that they were carrying out the directive of one Isah who resides in Kabba Junction along Lokoja -Okene expressway.
The suspects further revealed that their stolen wares are often sold to their accomplice one Abuh , who specializes in reprocessing the cables for the production of plastic chairs and tables.
Meanwhile, the Command has intensified its investigative efforts to track down and apprehend the named accomplices, and promise to prosecute the suspects on the conclusion of diligent investigation.
State Commandant Aletan Olumide Ebenezer commended the officers for their diligence and professionalism in the arrest of the criminals and advised the people to stay away from crime and criminality, saying the command has zero tolerance for criminals.
