Wike Mourns Arise News Anchor Somtochukwu , Vows Killers Will Face Justice

ABUJA   –  THE Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barr. Nyesom Wike, has commiserated with the management and staff of Arise News Channel over the tragic death of news anchor, Somtochukwu Maduagwu, describing her passing as “painful and heartbreaking.”

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike prayed for the repose of her soul and assured that security agencies will leave no stone unturned in unravelling the surrounding her death.


“I feel pained that such a wonderful soul could be cut down in its prime. It is sad. The Police will ensure WERE thatQQQ those responsible are brought to justice,” the minister said.

According to the FCTA Mandate Secretary on Health, Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, Somtochukwu was brought into Maitama General Hospital dead at about 4:30 a.m. on Monday.

She noted that a preliminary medical report will be submitted to the police to aid ongoing investigations.

Wike further extended his condolences to the Arise News family, especially its Chairman, Prince Nduka Obaigbena, as well as the family and friends of the deceased, praying for divine comfort and strength for them during this difficult period.
