Maharaj Ji Slams El-Rufai’s Remarks On 2027 Election, Describes It As Threat To National Unity, Stability

IBADAN – THE Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, is facing widespread criticism following a controversial remark in which he allegedly warned that Nigeria may cease to exist if the All Progressives Congress (APC) does not win the 2027 presidential election.
The statement, which has circulated widely on social media and has yet to be officially denied by El-Rufai or his aides, has drawn the ire of spiritual leader who also doubles as the Living Perfect Master and founder of the One Love Family Satguru Maharaj Ji, who described the comments as “a threat to national unity and stability.”
In a strongly worded public statement, Maharaj Ji accused El-Rufai of repeating rhetoric similar to what was used during the lead-up to the 2015 elections, suggesting that such comments could incite unrest. He said:
“No one has the right to threaten Nigeria’s continued existence over elections. We heard this kind of rhetoric in 2014, and it is unacceptable today.”
Maharaj Ji also challenged El-Rufai to publicly declare his innocence regarding allegations of corruption during his time in office by “swearing with a glass of water,” implying spiritual consequences if the former governor is being untruthful.
He further called on El-Rufai to clear any political or administrative grievances with institutions he once served, including the Federal Capital Territory Ministry and the Bureau of Public Enterprises.
The spiritual leader alleged that El-Rufai’s past actions and affiliations, including reported engagements with controversial clerics and alleged favoritism during his tenure, have undermined public trust.
“El-Rufai should face the law and stop issuing veiled threats. Nigeria is bigger than any individual or political group,” he said.
Maharaj Ji also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying his administration has shown “courage and commitment” by addressing structural economic issues and enhancing national security. According to him, the President’s reforms — including free education, decentralization of electricity generation, and fiscal discipline — are gradually restoring public confidence.
“This administration has touched the hearts of Nigerians,” he added. “The customs service is reporting record revenues, and food prices are starting to stabilize. We must not allow distractions to derail the progress being made.”
He warned against political groups or individuals allegedly hoarding food and diverting resources across Nigeria’s borders to create artificial scarcity, calling for closer monitoring by the Nigeria Customs Service and other agencies.
Maharaj Ji also advocated for a new political philosophy, which he described as “Africanocracy” — a form of governance rooted in traditional African values of community, transparency, and shared prosperity.
In closing, the spiritual leader urged political figures, including El-Rufai and his alleged associates, to abandon divisive politics and instead contribute positively to Nigeria’s development.
“The time for threats is over. Nigerians want peace, development, and accountability. Let us work together to build a country that serves all its people,” Maharaj Ji concluded.
