IBADAN — THE Deputy Chief Whip of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Yusuf Adebisi, today paid an inspection visit to his constituency to assess the progress of newly constructed convenience facilities aimed at improving sanitation and public health within the market environment.
The project, which consists of modern toilet and bath facilities, is designed to serve market men and women, addressing long-standing concerns about hygiene and access to basic amenities in the trading hubs.
During the visit, Honourable Adebisi held strategic engagements with key market stakeholders, including the Iya l’Oja and Baba l’Oja, alongside other traders, to evaluate the project’s impact and gather feedback from beneficiaries.
Speaking on behalf of the market women, the Iya l’Oja expressed deep appreciation for the initiative, noting its significance to daily market activities.
“For a long time, this has been one of our major challenges in the market. We appreciate Honourable Adebisi for remembering us and taking practical steps to solve this problem. This project will greatly improve hygiene and comfort for everyone,” she said.
Similarly, the Baba l’Oja commended the lawmaker’s consistency in delivering people-centered projects across the constituency.

Some traders who were present during the inspection also shared their excitement, describing the project as timely and impactful in improving their working environment.
In his remarks, Honourable Adebisi emphasized that the sanitation facility is part of his broader commitment to enhancing the welfare and dignity of his constituents.
“This project is about improving the quality of life for our people. Our market men and women deserve clean, safe, and accessible facilities, and we will continue to prioritize initiatives that directly impact their well-being,” he said.
The sanitation project is one of several developmental interventions executed by Honourable Adebisi over the past six years in office. His achievements across the constituency include empowerment for indigents and vulnerable people, distribution of skill acquisition tools, the construction of a police station to strengthen security, installation of water boreholes to improve access to potable water, development of pedestrian bridges for safer movement, and the fencing of school perimeters to ensure a secure learning environment among others.
Community members praised the lawmaker’s sustained commitment to grassroots development, noting that his projects continue to address critical needs within the constituency.
