2027: POJ To Turn Poverty To Abundance In Oyo

IBADAN     —   A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State and 2023 Gubernatorial Candidate, Engineer Popoola Olukayode Joshua has assured of turning Oyo State into a hub of abundance if elected in the 2027 General Elections.

The respected technocrat cum politician said this at a function in Lagos State over the weekend, saying his capacity and experiences are needed for due leadership in Oyo State.

Engineer Popoola, fondly called POJ, noted that the administration of Seyi Makinde has suffocated the local government leadership, increase public poverty by his high handedness.

He added that the ruling party has refused to prioritize good education as promised in 2019, noting that the over N400billion education funds, however, the state still records the highest number of out-of-school children in the region, with about 20.1 per cent of children aged 3 to 17 totalling 674,324 being excluded from education.

“Finland and some other European countries play a huge premium on education, this positions their economy booming.”

He lamented about the high denigration of education facilities in elementary, secondary and state owned in Oyo State describing it “an eyesore.”

“One will believe over N400billion expended into education by the PDP government in the last seven years will bring a turn around. No, worsening situation. Students and teachers sit and learn under out of roof classrooms or rather dilapidated buildings. Where is the value for this?”, he said.

The 2027 Gubernatorial Aspirant in Oyo State has promised to “correct the wrong “in the education administration, saying his administration will improve peace, tranquility, and all round progress in Oyo State.

Meanwhile, the APC Chieftain called Nigerians to rally support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration for an increased democracy development, urging the members of the All Progressives Congress to remain united and resolute in suggesting him as a consensus candidacy for the Gubernatorial ticket, assuring of all progressive, inclusive governance, if elected in 2027.
