Awardwinning Nigerian singer Ayodeji Balogun, popular as Wizkid has lost his mum.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, August 18 at 1:30 AM has sparked a wave of condolence messages across social media platforms.
Confirming the news, Sunday Are, Wizkid’s long time manager shared that Mrs Balogun passed away during the early hours of Friday.
“Yes, she passed away this morning, around 1:30 am,” he said.
The late Mrs Balogun is survived by Wizkid, his two other siblings, Yetunde Balogun and Lade Balogun, and grandchildren.
In her lifetime, the late Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun was a pillar of support for her son, the globally renowned Afrobeats singer.
