IBADAN – The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the, Kingsway Pharmacy and Supermarket, who also doubles as the founder of the Kingsway Health and Outreach Foundation {KIHOF}, Alhaji Amuda Hafeez in his usual philanthropic manner empowered no fewer than one hundred and Fifty widows in Ibadan.
The Kingsway Health and Outreach Foundation {KIHOF} was launched in the year 2024 in Akinyele local government area of Ibadan, the Capital City of Oyo State, with the aim of assisting the less privileged people in the society.
Speaking with the pressmen during the 5th Ramadan Lecture of KIHOF held at Community School Apapa Moniya, Ibadan, Alhaji Amuda Hafeez called on the well meaning Nigerians to always support the less privileged in the society.
In his words, Amuda said, “to the glory of God, today we have supported over 150 widows with reasonable amount of money, we also offered free medical services for residents of this communities and people that came from far distances for this lecture, we’ve gave out free medications to the beneficiaries based on their health status, our medical personnel have been on ground attending to people since morning and part of their job is to conduct a free tests which comprises the BP test and Sugar level test, we’ve also offered professional medical advise to the beneficiaries, this informations are very crucial to them, as it will help them to manage and stabilize their health.

“This has become an annual event, we did same thing last year, but the numbers of widows we catered for last year are not up to the current number we have today, We understand that there is hardship in the country and we know people are actually passing through a lot in this country, some families cannot afford three square meals as we speak, that is why our foundation is doing this to ameliorate the suffering.” Amuda said.
When asked if his philanthropic gesture has political undertones, Alhaji Amuda Hafeez said, “I don’t have any political ambition for now, I’m just doing this to help my people, it’s like giving back to the society, and we have started this for long, this is our 5th Ramadan Lecture and this has given us the opportunity to do more for our people and we will continue to do more because this program has become an annual event.”
In his lecture titled, “Heart of Kindness”, the Guest Lecturer, Alhaji Sheik Ismaheel Gbamolada urged government at all levels to rise to the yearning of the people by providing succour to the ongoing economic hardship in the country.
The Ibadan-based popular Islamic scholar called on well meaning Nigerians to emulate the philanthropic gesture of the founder of Kingsway Foundation, Alhaji Amuda Hafeez who has chosen to continue helping the less privileged in the society. He noted that there is no other good deeds that is superior to this kind gesture.
Sheik Gbamolada affirmed that Nigerians must continue to extend the attitude of kindness to one another.
He said, ” we all knows what is good and what is bad, the people at the government knows what is the right to do for the masses, they must not wait until people starve to death before they start doing something meaningful, Nigeria needs people’s oriented policies to survive, our government knows the right thing to do, but they refused, some well meaning Nigerians knows the right things to do but they refused and that is why the hunger and starvation related death are very rampant these days.
“People are not ready to help the less privileged in the society, people no longer have sympathy for each others again, only few just like Alhaji Amuda have the heart of kindness and until we all cultivate the habit of giving and start to exhibit the heart of kindness to one another that we are going to enjoy this our country.” Sheik Gbamolada said.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon Akinwole Akinleye lauded Alhaji Hafeez for what he called the timely support initiatives for the less privileged in the society.
He maintained that Alhaji Amuda Hafeez has always been in the forefront when it comes to helping the less privileged in the society especially the downtrodden in Akinyele Local Government.
He said, “This man(Alhaji Amuda Hafeez) has been helping people and he has been doing this for a very long time up till now, this kind of gesture is very rare among our people and that is why we always come here every year to give him support, this is someone that has been spending out of the little he has to support the masses and I think he also deserves our support.
“It is very important that we continue to support him so he can also continue with this laudable initiative.” Akinleye said.
Highlights of the event include Quran recitation, Iftar, among others.
