Family heads (Mogajis) in Ibadanland, the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Chiefs, Baales, prominent sons and daughters of the ancient city including the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland and owner of Ilaji Hotel and Sport Resort, Akanran, Ibadan, Engr. Dotun Sanusi has facilitated with the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Sen. Olalekan Balogun on his second year coronation anniversary.

The Chiefs said the reign of Oba Lekan Balogun has brought tremendous things to Ibadanland, saying history will never forget the monarch for his contributions towards upholding the customs and tradition of Ibadanland.

A statement jointly signed by the President of Ibadan Mogajis, Mogaji Asimiyu Ariori and the Coordinator, Ibadan Compound Peace Initiative, Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade stated that Ibadan and Oyo State in general has recorded many developemental stride during the reign of Oba Lekan Balogun.

The statement described the monarch as selfless person who always concern with the progress and upliftment of his people and the entire Ibadan as a whole.

According to the duo, the reign of Olubadan has brought peace, unity and harmony to Ibadanland, adding that indeed, Olubadan is a great and illustrious son of Ibadanland.

“We are proud of you, you have put Ibadanland among top destination for visitors, and our dear state has remained the pace setter state as it used to be.”

“Kabiyesi, you are not just our king but also a father to us, your fatherly role can not be overemphasized, your contribution to the development and progress of this city is immeasurable.”

“We are lucky to have you as our father, leader, companion, and our pathfinder, the entire Ibadan will remain greatful to your tremendous impact before and after you became the Olubadan of Ibadanland.”

“During your reign, the new Olubadan Palace was completed, during your reign, an Indigen of Ibadan became the Vice Chancellor (VC) of University of Ibadan, during your reign, you are the first PhD holder and a Senator of the federal republic of Nigeria to have became Olubadan.”

“You have set the foot of Ibadanland to the right path, your academic wisdom, knowledge, and political exposure has put Ibadan to a lime light, creating opportunity for Ibadan indegens both home and abroad by making the City the new Capital of Africa.
