Nigeria has been described as a country leaping on one leg.
Naijanewshub.com.ng reports that Nigerians have been urged to keep on praying to avoid total collapse of their great nation.
Speaking with newsmen in Ibadan shortly after the Eid-El-Kabir lecture, the chief imam of University of Ibadan, Professor Abdurahman Oloyede called on Nigerians to intensify prayers to safe Nigeria from total collapse.
The cleric in his words confirmed that Nigeria is currently leaping on one leg.
Speaking on insecurity challenges battling the country, Prof. Oloyede said, “were there no budgetary allocation for security sector, where did the money go? The government know what they should do because they budgeted for security apparatus, so why are they not functioning? That’s is why I said we need a serious prayers.
“My message for this year is that we should all be very prayerful, Nigeria is diminishing, Nigeria as a country is leaping on one leg, and it is only God that can safe us from total collapsing, it is very obvious and glaring that those at the helms of affairs no longer have the control of the country again, we don’t even know their agendas on Nigeria, it seems as of they don’t even have the interest of the masses at heart, so irrespective of our religion, we should all go and be begging God, we should continue begging Him to uphold our country, it is the less privileged in the society that feel the pain most, so we must all go and be strong in our prayers.
“Come 2023, it is only God that can give us a credible leaders, you can imagine during the last election we chosen our leaders based on experience but they’ve all failed us, so it is only God that knows everything and it’s only Him that we should beg to chose for us come 2023, and He knows the region the person will emerge from, so we need prayer.” Oloyede said.
Prof . Oloyede in his words frowned against attacks on innocent worshippers by some groups parading themselves as Muslims.
Oloyede said, “Islam doesn’t support killing as a way of worshipping, so those carrying out attack on innocent worshippers are doing it for their own selfish interest and they are not godly, for God has said whoever that kills his fellow human will be punished for it, so what do we now expect God to do, those killing in the name of religion are not doing so because of God but because of their personal gains and self interest.
