•••Approves N184m To Repair Police Armoured Personnel Carriers

In it’s efforts to consolidate on the success recorded in the first phase of the Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery (SAfER) loan initiative, the Oyo State Government on Thursday announced that the second phase of the initiative will  commence at the end of March 2024.

The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade disclosed this at the press conference held at Governor’s Office, Secretariat Ibadan.

This was shortly after the state Executive Council meeting.

The Commissioner maintained that state recorded a very positive impact on the people during the first phase, hence the decision to commence the second Phase of the Sustainable Action for Economic Recovery (SAfER) initiative.

Speaking on the security architecture of the state, the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Abiodun Aikomo, said that the state Executive Council has approved and awarded a contract in the some of One hundred and Eighty Four Million Naira to rehabilitate some Armored Personnel carriers of the Nigeria Police Force Oyo State Command.

He said that this is to fortify the security operative in beefing up the state security architecture.

The state Commissioner for budget and economic planning, Professor Babatunde Musibau, also hinted the state government’s readiness to support the Nigeria Police, Oyo State Command, in hosting the 14th biennial Police in the state.According to Prof. Babatunde, the state would give support in the area of Transportation, Sporting Facilities, Health, among others.
