The Olubadan-designate, Balogun Owolabi Olakulehin has made his first public appearance on Friday after returning to his Alalubosa Ibadan, residence.

This has put to rest the fear his absence has been generated among the Olubadan-in-council, Ibadan and environs.

The Olubadan stool became vacant following the death of the 42nd Olubadan, Oba Mohood Lekan Balogun at 81.

Earlier before his appearance, the Otun Olubadan and former governor of Oyo state, High Chief Rasidi Ladoja has confirmed that “Baba ti de” meaning Baba has returned.

Olubadan-designate appearance was made public when some of the High Chiefs visited him at his Alalubosa residence.

Speaking with newsmen after visiting the incoming monarch, the Osi Balogun Olubadan of Ibadanland, High Chief Lateef Adebimpe, said the Olubadan-designate is hale and hearty.

He maintained that it is impossible for the Olubadan-in-Council to nominate Olakulehin unless they are sure that he is in good condition.

According to him, “It has been sometime we have seen our Kabiyesi Owolabi Olakulehin in our midst and we have been making arrangements for Olakulehin’s coronation ceremony, who is our next Olubadan of Ibadanland.

“We thank God that he is hale and hearty, and very soon, he will ascend the throne of his forefathers, we will relate what we see here to our colleagues.

According to traditional arrangement in Ibadanland, the next Olubadan is the Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Owolabi Olakulehin.

Going by Ibadan chieftaincy arrangement, for Olakulehin to become Olubadan, he must be nominated by the next person to him in his line, Otun Balogun Tajudeen Ajibola, at a meeting that should be convened by the most senior chief in the other line, Otun, who is former governor of Oyo state, Senator Rasidi Ladoja within 21 days of the demise of the monarch.
