Oyo ADP chairman has debunked collapsing structure for APC.

Naijanewshub.com.ng reports that the Oyo state chairman of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Apostle Dare Ojo has refuted a claim in a news report in a section of the online media that the party had collapsed its structure in the state to work for the emergence of All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in the February 25 election.

Apostle Ojo was reacting to the purported media report today while speaking with journalists in Ibadan maintaining that ADP has a popular, politically savvy and competitive presidential candidate in the Saturday’s election and as such has no cause to enter into any form of alliance or pact with any individual or political party against its own presidential candidate.

Recall that a news report which surfaced online yesterday in a section of the online media alleging that ADP alongside other three political parties, namely; Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Young Progressives Party (YPP), and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) had collapsed their party structures to work for the success of Tinubu’s presidential victory.

Apostle Ojo, who doubles as the state chairman of Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) maintained that the purported publication was merely a figment of the author’s imagination devoid of any atom of reality stressing that ADP remains the party to beat in the 2023 general elections as its candidates are formidably ready to sweep off all elective offices from top to bottom.

The purported news publication reads in part; “ahead of Saturday’s presidential election, political parties in four states in the South-West have collapsed their structures to work for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

“The political parties, Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Young Progressives Party (YPP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), and Action Democratic Party (ADP), who are members of the South-West Alliance of Registered Political Parties said they decided to collapse their political parties’ structures to ensure Tinubu’s victory in Saturday’s election.”

In his reaction, Apostle Dare Ojo who has threatened to institute legal action against the author of the purported story if not publicly withdrawn and refuted within the next 48 hours said, “I’m the chairman of Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Oyo state.

“Yesterday evening, I got a call from the chairperson of our party that my name was mentioned in a publication alleging me to have met with some people and had collapsed the structure of our party in the south west for APC Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“I want to make it abundantly and unequivocally clear that I’m neither aware nor informed of any decision relating to such. I carried out my own investigations, by calling our national office, and I told my national organizing secretary and I was told to find out the source of such information, and I was able to get the source.

“It was from Lagos, and I got in touch with those people. They were trying to beg me and they said they didn’t mean to mention my name, and they said it was a misconception from the reporter, and they started begging me but I said it can’t be a misconception that they needed to approach the media and address the issue because it’s an embarrassment to me, it is an assassination of my character, for mentioning my name on what I did not do or have an idea.

“The man has promised to refute the report in the media but I cannot wait for that, that’s why I’m addressing the issue now. So, neither I, Apostle Dare Ojo nor Oyo ADP has anything to do with either APC or its presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu towards the coming election.

“As an IPAC chairman in the state, I was holding meetings with various political parties with Oyo REC at the INEC Headquaters because this is an election period and as the IPAC chairman, I have to meet with them to see how we can resolve electoral issues before, during, and after election.”
